TF00BO16	Advanced Knowledge of Foundation Engineering (5 cr)
Prerequisites	Basics of Geotechnics.
Objectives	Student can calculate additional stresses in subsoil caused by different kinds of loads. He/she can also calculate settlement in time and he can also calculate settlement in that case when subsoil is overconsolidated. He can also calculate stability. He can choose suitable construction method to increase bearing capacity of road embankment on soft soil. He can estimate is supported excavation necessary or not and he can also calculate earth pressure against retaining wall. He can also calculate bearing cabasity of piles and also knows how to measure it and how to make quality control of piling. He can design transition structures to prevent uneven settlements.
