Advice and study opportunities for Ukrainians

In response to the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Ukraine, Oulu University of Applied Sciences offers services and study opportunities for Ukrainians. The Finnish higher education system consists of universities and universities of applied sciences. Universities of applied sciences offer professionally oriented higher education at bachelor’s and master’s levels and have strong ties with working life and regional development. Guidance and counseling

Oulu University of Applied Sciences offers free of charge guidance and counseling for Ukrainians, especially for those who are interested in higher education. You can contact us if your studying at Ukrainian universities is in process, or if you are interested in higher education studies in Finland.

Personal guidance and counseling are held in English. It is also possible to arrange a meeting via the Internet if you live outside of Oulu. Together we can plan your education opportunities here in Oamk, or in other universities n Finland.

Open University – Free Courses and Study Paths

Oamk offers free studies at Open University for Ukrainians. Courses are free of charge for anyone, who had to flee Ukraine due to war and is currently in Finland (temporary protection). In Open University you can study individual courses and study paths. 

The course selection of Open University varies depending on the time. 

Finnish language courses, open since autumn 2023:

  • Finnish Language 2: Survive! (3 cr)
  • Finnish Language 2: Move on! (3 cr)
  • Finnish Language 3: Speak! (3 cr) 
  • Finnish Language 4: Write! (3 cr)
