Objectives | The student gains knowledge about various spectacle frame materials and tools used in spectacles manufacturing. The student familiarizes him/herself with basics of frame repair practices. The student is able to edge glass into different shapes and edging different bevels. The student gains an understanding of frame measurement systems of a frame. The student familiarizes him/herself with the manual lens centration and edging process. The student demonstrates ability to use the lensmeter for verifying and spotting single vision lenses. The student understands the principle of the lens clock and can use it for the determination of lens parameters. The student is able to determine the minimum blank size. The student can distinguish between different lens types, materials and surface treatments. The student is able to apply an error tolerance system to evaluate dispensed spectacles. |
