Objectives | After completing the course, the student is able to discuss the pathological conditions of the anterior eye. The student is able to identify diseases of the anterior eye and guide the patient forward if necessary. The student is able to start treatment activities in accordance with his or her own education. After completing the course, the student is able to explain the operating principles of the examination devices of the anterior parts of the eyes and is able to use them in the examination of the anterior parts of the eyes. The student identifies the most important parts of the anterior and anterior visual pathways of the eye, as well as the changes in the structures of the anterior part of the eye caused by the most common general and ocular diseases and medications. The student is able to use different methods in examining the anterior eye. The student identifies the indications and contraindications of the use of diagnostic drugs in eye health screening. The student is able to utilize diagnostic drugs appropriately and safely in his / her eye examinations procedures. |
Content | Anterior pathology of the eye; orbital diseases, ocular auxiliary diseases, diseases of the lacrimal apparatus including dry eye, conjunctival diseases, corneal diseases, scleral diseases, choroidal diseases, lens diseases, and tumors of the front of the eye. Patient history, ocular visual physiological tests (visual acuity, eye movements, refraction, color vision, twilight vision and glare), anterior biomicroscopy of the eye, contact and non-contact tonometry, gonioscopy, pachymetry, tear function, pupillary reflexes, confrontation perimetry, anterior OCT. Use of ophthalmic diagnostic drugs. |
