Content The course introduces the history of sound synthesis, basic concepts and synthesis methods. Topics covered include, for example, subtractive, FM, wavetable and additive synthesis. Some of the more experimental sound synthesis methods are also introduced, such as granular syntheses and synthetic modeling of physical instruments. In the course, sound is synthesized with both modular and fixed-architecture synthesizers in analog and digital environments. During the course, you will learn to combine synthesized sound with various contexts of creative musical expression and sonic art.
