Objectives | I know the history of recording and how to use alternative recording techniques for different instruments. I have become familiar with the typical recording methods and am able to make multi-track recordings myself. I understand the roles of recording engineer, producer and musicians and their interaction in different recording situations. I familiarize myself with typical rack effects and peripherals. I can provide individual monitoring mixes for different musicians. |
Content | Familiarization with music recording practices from different decades from the perspective of both classical and popular music. The student tries out different microphones and their suitability in recording. The student expands her/his knowledge of the use of recording studio equipment. Familiarization visit to a commercial studio. |
