Objectives | I recognize and know the basic practices and working methods of jazz jams. I practice and learn swing, bebop, hardbop and newer repertoire. I practice band and ensemble playing. I practice leading a band and musical communication skills in a live performance situation. I adopt the common laws of standard tunes. I do harmony and structure analysis of jazz standards. I practice beginnings, endings, improvisation, ensemble playing and different forms of accompaniment. |
