KB00DN16 Research and Development Methods Part I (5 cr)
Prerequisites Not applicable
Objectives Quantitative research methods (3 ECTS): Students understand the basic concepts of quantitative research. They also familiarize themselves with sampling methods and measurement scales. Students can build a valid questionnaire, collect and describe statistical data by using appropriate software.

Qualitative research methods (2 ECTS): Students familiarize themselves with the basic concepts of qualitative research. They understand when qualitative research methods can be applied and learn the importance of a research question. Students also know how to plan a qualitative research project.
Content Quantitative research methods: Statistical research process, data collection, summarizing the data (tables and charts), reporting, exercises with appropriate tools.
Qualitative research methods: Qualitative research process, research question, research plan.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
