Objectives The student is capable to name the main principles and the sources of the private international law. Student recognizes the role of legal issues in international trade and knows the rules of the choice of law. Student knows the responsibilities of the contracting parties. Student also learns the relevance of the contracts in risk management. Student can evaluate the applicability of different types of contracts in practice. Student also understands the aspects of contract law in e-business. Student knows the basic principles of legislation on restrictive business practices. Student knows how to act responsibly when processing personal data and can explain the main principles of data protection. Student is also capable of applying them in practice. Student understands the role of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in business and knows appropriate actions to protect intellectual property.
Content The sources of the private international law, the choice of law, the arbitration proceedings, the Convention on Contracts for the International Sales of Goods, Incoterms 2020, distribution contract, retail contract, agency contract, franchise contract, joint ventures, the harmful restraints on competition, data protection, GDPR, IPR, digital rights management (DRM).
