Objectives
As a Bachelor's thesis, students develop and demonstrate their ability to carry out practical expert tasks connected to their field of study (Decree on Polytechnics 352/2003, art. 7). The Bachelor's thesis is a learning process in which the theory of the field of study, as well as problem solving and development methods and working methods of the field of study are applied in practice. It combines different areas of the students' training, thus deepening their professional competence; it improves their skills at seeking information, evaluating the worth of information, and combining pieces of information with a view to problem solving; it creates new skills and teaches students to present the results of their work clearly, as well as improving their co-operation skills.
Content
The Bachelor's thesis is by nature a development task, increasing the students' professional skills and serving the development needs of business life. The thesis topic is approved of by the head of degree programme. Head of department nominates the tutoring teacher and the assessing teacher.

Further Information Double degree exchange students from HNU:
The Bachelor's thesis at Oamk should be carried out
either
a) after your physical exchange at Oamk from back home under the supervision of Oamk and HNU academic staff,
or
b) in the frame of an extended exchange at Oamk under the the supervision of Oamk and HNU academic staff.
In case a) and b), the topic must be negotiated in spring 2024 by way of consulting Oamk's academic coordinator and head of degree programme by 15 March 2024 at the latest.
In addition, in case b) the extension and the duration of the extended exchange must be negotiated and approved by academic staff at Oamk and HNU, as well as the International Mobility and Oamk Services () and HNU International Office () by 1 October 2023 at the very latest.
